Why isn't my contracting business showing up on Google Maps?

Almost always one of three reasons: you don't have a verified Google Business Profile, your profile is incomplete (missing categories, services, service area, or photos), or your name/address/phone is inconsistent across the web so Google doesn't trust the listing. Verify the profile, complete every field, and fix NAP consistency — in that order.

The fix checklist

  2. 02Set the primary category correctly, add every relevant service with a keyword-rich description, and define your service area if you don't have a storefront.
  3. 03Make your Name, Address, and Phone identical everywhere online — website, directories, social. Mismatches split your trust signal.
  4. 04Add real photos and post regularly. Active profiles outrank dormant ones with identical categories.
